PET sheet (APET)

Amorphous PET sheet is the clear rigid film of thermoformed packaging: food trays, blisters, clamshells, lidding bases. Typical thickness runs 150–1200 µm, supplied in rolls on 76 mm cores or as cut sheets, plain or with anti-fog, silicone or PE-lamination finishes.

Its market position rests on clarity, stiffness and recyclability within the PET stream. Recycled content is now the commercial default: 30% PCR meets the UK Plastic Packaging Tax exemption, with 50–100% available; food-contact grades must use rPET from an authorised super-clean process, evidenced by a Declaration of Compliance. Key specification points: thickness and tolerance, width, roll geometry, PCR percentage, food-contact status. Classified HS 3920.62. Buyers are thermoformers across food, retail and technical packaging.
