Shrink hoods

A shrink hood is a gusseted LDPE bag pulled over a loaded pallet and heat-shrunk into a tight, weatherproof skin — the securing method of choice for bagged cement, fertiliser, bricks and any load that must survive outdoor storage. Against stretch wrap, the shrink hood's advantages are five-face weather protection, high load stability, and a drum-tight presentation.

Films run 80–200 µm, often UV-stabilised for outdoor stacks, clear or opaque, printable. The alternative technology, the stretch hood, uses an elastic film applied cold — faster lines, no gas or heat, but different film engineering. Specification points: pallet footprint and load height (sets hood geometry), gauge, UV package, clarity, print. Classified HS 3923.21. Recycled-content shrink films are established in this application.
