Refuse sack duty grades
Refuse sacks are graded by the load they genuinely carry, not the plastic they contain. The working ladder: light duty (10–15 kg — office and washroom waste), medium duty (15–20 kg — general commercial), heavy duty (20 kg+, typically 140–160 g sacks — site and wet waste) and compactor grades built for the pressures of compaction chutes.
The CHSA accreditation scheme exists because this is where packaging cheats most easily: understated gauge, short counts, capacity claims no sack survives. A serious specification states dimensions (the 18×29×39" sack is the UK standard), gauge or sack weight, verified capacity, and count per box or roll. Recycled content of 30%+ removes the importer's Plastic Packaging Tax liability, evidenced by batch declaration. Classified HS 3923.21.
