Polypropylene is the most versatile commodity polymer: rigid packaging (tubs, buckets, crates), raffia/woven tape for big-bags and sacks, BOPP film for labels and wrappers, automotive parts, carpet backing and battery cases. Homopolymer maximises stiffness; copolymer (with ethylene) adds impact resistance, especially at low temperature.

The scrap trade runs distinct streams that must not be mixed: rigids, woven FIBC (liners out), carpet backing, and battery-case regrind — the last only from licensed battery recyclers with documented acid neutralisation. Key parameters: MFI (230 °C/2.16 kg), ash/filler content, colour, and copolymer versus homo. Scrap classifies under HS 3915.90, primary forms under 3902.10/3902.30; sorted single-polymer streams ship green-list as B3011. End markets: injection compounds, raffia production, filled automotive and furniture compounds.
