How personal data is handled on the Cyclomer website — aligned with UK GDPR.
Who we are
Cyclomer Ltd ("we") is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Contact: info@cyclomer.co.uk.
What we collect and why
Enquiry data. When you submit a quote request or material offer we collect the details you provide: name, company, email, phone, location, material details, message and any files you upload. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to a business enquiry you initiated) and, where a contract follows, performance of a contract. Your enquiry records the timestamp of your consent to this policy.
Analytics data. Only after you opt in via the cookie banner, we record first-party analytics events: pages viewed, referrer, UTM tags, approximate country, device class, a random session identifier and page duration. IP addresses are pseudonymised (final octet truncated) before storage. Lawful basis: consent. Declining analytics does not change how the site works.
Email. If you email us, we process your message under legitimate interests to reply.
We do not sell personal data, run advertising trackers, or use third-party analytics services.
Retention
- Enquiry records: reviewed after 24 months; deleted unless an active trading relationship or legal obligation requires retention.
- Analytics events: deleted after 14 months automatically.
- Security logs containing raw IP addresses: rotated after 30 days.
- Trade documentation (contracts, Annex VII): retained at least 3 years as required by waste shipment law.
Sharing
Enquiry data is visible to our staff and, where needed to quote or perform a contract, to counterparties directly involved in your trade (for example a haulier collecting your material). Infrastructure providers hosting this site process data on our instructions. We do not transfer your data outside the UK/EEA except where a trade you request requires it (for example sharing consignment contacts with a Turkish consignee), with appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to legal@cyclomer.co.uk; we respond within one month. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing cookies for this site — the banner will ask again.
If you are unhappy with our handling of your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
